It's a simple composition, with a strong image. The lone sword backed by negative space gives a feeling of solitude, and invokes the question, "Why is it there?" There are many possibilities, it could be the blade of a fallen warrior, or the discarded instrument of death that the warrior must leave behind to find a new life. Cheesy? Yes, but I'm allowed to be the fan of a cliche every once in a while, right?

Vance, this is a very cool piece. And simple is welcomed. But where is the text? The exercise is calling for some abstract arrangement of text, letters, etc. See if you can also upload a text-based abstract piece as well. Or perhaps you could arrange some text in this piece. The sword could be in a mound of ROCK (use the letters and shape tools to create a rock).
ReplyDeleteIt's, um... outlined in text.
ReplyDeletei, um, see that now. and it makes me happy. very interesting, warrior Vance.
